As much as I hate to label us, my husband is a “punk”… I myself am more “goth”, and we’re looking for bedding. So far we’ve had about a thousand sets of black sheets (also red, purple and oddly enough… pink) but I’m getting extraordinarily bored with plain, patternless sheets. We have a very expensive duvet that was given to us as a gift by my mother, so I’d like to get a cover for it. I also like the look of coordinating curtains and throw pillows, tho my husband finds them useless. (He’s not opposed to them, just amused by them. He calls them “unnecessary fluff”) Anyway, there was a pattern I was interested in around the time of our wedding called Serendipity Red. Unfortunately this was not one of the wedding gifts, the pattern’s been discontinued and I can’t find anything else close enough to it to satisfy me. I’ve toyed with the idea of making my own duvet cover and throw pillows, but as a last resort I figured I could ask here and see if anyone knows of any top-secret gothy homemaker shops that I’ve been missing.

As I side note, I detest floral patterns and gold… not that there’s anything wrong with them, I simply find them objectionable in a gag-reflex kind of way. We’ve been leaning toward red (for shade, think blood red), deep purple, indigo, silver (only if shiny, we both dislike gray) and of course, black.

Oh, and if it helps, most of our furniture is wood with cherry and/or espresso finish, black and silver. Our living room has a vaguely Asian theme with cherry furniture and an accent wall that is red crackle paint with silver underneath. So as you can imagine, I’m not opposed to over-the-top decorating

Okay, I am looking for a comforter quilt or a duvet cover that has an Indian/bohemian/old world look to it. I do most of my shopping online only because I live in a very rural area. I like very bold colors, old world colors that create a very bright and happy atmosphere, but also have a mysterious and far away look. Any suggestions as to where is a good place to shop? I am also on a serious budget, just fyi.

So my room is not tiny, but kind of small and I have brown furniture (i’m not going to change my furniture) I am 13 by the way, in case that will influence your opinion

Well I have read all of your posts and I have gone with this comforter http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=113627&RN=22 and am going to try to match my room with it by painting it a medium shade of teal/tourquois. My theme is still going to be beach, so now I think i’m mostly looking for a exact brand and paint color, and decorations. I’m looking for a painted beach or sunset on a canvas. Thank You!

I Put my plain chocolate curtains and my duvet cover and pillowcase (which is cream/chocolate with a nice pattern) into the wash and i must have left a red sock in because the cream part of the bedding is now bright pink!! how do i make it cream again????

I have an all red and black theme in my bedroom. I have an almost black rosewood king sized bed being made. I plan to buy a memory foam mattress, but need linens to cover it. Honestly, price is no object, I want the best. Only red and/or black. I would prefer the comforter/duvet be mostly/completely red, to stand out against the dark wood. An abstract pattern or oriental design would be perfect. I have checked overstock, amazon, bed bath and beyond, and the other sites that pop up in google. I eventually gave up because there are thousands of sets and very few do not contain any other colors. Silk, satin, whatever, as long as it doesn’t feel cheap. Thanks for any info!
